START and STOP

Choose your session settings, play CS2, and restore your PC when you finish.

On this page

START applies the options in CONFIG. The button becomes STOP while the gaming session is active. Keep TinyBoost running while you play.

Before you press START#

  • Finish any running benchmark, stress test, or maintenance job.
  • Save work in other apps. Your selected background apps may be paused or closed.
  • Sign in to Steam if you want TinyBoost to launch CS2.
  • Review any warning about another tuning tool, such as Process Lasso or MSI Afterburner.

Starting a session#

  1. Click CONFIG to open Pre-Launch Configuration. You may also see this checklist after clicking START.
  2. Read each option and choose the changes you want. Your selections are saved.
  3. Leave unfamiliar options off. GPU profile switches need a compatible saved profile; network changes may briefly interrupt your connection.
  4. Click START and respond to any confirmation shown.
  5. Wait for setup to finish. When the main button reads STOP, the session is active.

You can use TinyBoost without creating a manual GPU profile or changing memory settings. See GPU tools and Network tools when you want to explore those options.

A graphics-driver restart can interrupt the display

If TinyBoost asks to restart the GPU driver, save your work first. The screen may briefly go black and open windows may move. Wait for the display and app to return.

While optimizations are on#

Play with TinyBoost open. Some tools and CONFIG stay locked until the session ends.

If you need a paused application, open the gear beside STOP and resume that application. You do not need to end the whole session just to use it.

Pressing STOP#

Finish your match first

STOP closes CS2. Do not press it during a match you want to keep playing.

  1. Click STOP.
  2. Wait for restoration to finish before closing TinyBoost or restarting Windows.
  3. Reopen any applications TinyBoost closed for you. Paused and closed applications are different: closed apps do not reopen automatically.

STOP restores the supported state recorded for that session. Separate changes such as Windows Tweaks, deleted files, or edited game settings have their own recovery steps. See Undo changes.

If a session is interrupted#

Open TinyBoost again and allow recovery to finish. If a setting still feels wrong, follow Undo changes before starting another session.

If TinyBoost is responsive but an application remains paused, bring the TinyBoost window to the front and tap M repeatedly while you are not typing in a text box. This requests emergency recovery. It may end the session and close CS2; it is not a hotkey that works from every other app.

Why START may be unavailable#

Read the message beside the control. It may be waiting for another job, an unfinished recovery, a confirmation, or a working account connection. Finish that step first. If no reason is visible, see disabled buttons.
