GPU tab
Updating graphics drivers, clearing the shader cache, and using supported NVIDIA tuning tools safely.
On this page
Where: Open TOOLS → GPU.
The controls depend on your graphics card and driver. NVIDIA-only tools are unavailable on unsupported hardware.
Choose the right tool#
| I want to… | Use |
|---|---|
| Check for a driver update | GPU Update |
| Troubleshoot cached graphics data | Shader Cache |
| Test a lower-voltage NVIDIA profile | Smart Automatic Undervolt |
| Edit voltage and clock targets myself | NVIDIA V/F Curve, for experienced users |
| Test GPU stability without making a profile | STRESS tab |
You do not need to tune your GPU before using START.
GPU Update#
Use Check for Updates to compare your current graphics driver with the available version. Select Manage to review the choices before continuing.
For NVIDIA cards, TinyBoost can guide a clean driver update. Read the component descriptions carefully and keep anything you use, such as HDMI or DisplayPort audio. During a driver update, displays can flicker or disconnect and TinyBoost can temporarily close.
For AMD and Intel cards, TinyBoost opens the hardware manufacturer's normal update flow.
Before updating a driver
Save your work, close games and graphics tools, and do not interrupt the update. Restart Windows afterward if requested.
Shader Cache#
Choose Clear Cache when troubleshooting stale graphical data or unusual stutter.
The next launch of a game can take longer or stutter while the cache rebuilds. That is expected.
Smart Automatic Undervolt#
Undervolting means trying a lower voltage for a chosen clock speed. This NVIDIA-only tool tests a candidate profile on your card.
- Save your work, close games, and close other GPU tuning tools.
- Open Smart Automatic Undervolt and read the preparation prompts.
- Start the test and let validation finish without running other demanding tasks.
- Review the result before using a saved profile.
Your card can become hot and loud during testing. You can cancel at any time. A profile is offered only after TinyBoost's validation completes successfully; failed or interrupted candidates are not kept.
Using a validated profile#
After TinyBoost saves a profile, enable Automatic Undervolt Profile in Pre-Launch Configuration. It applies during a START session and is removed when you press STOP.
NVIDIA V/F Curve#
The manual curve editor is for experienced users who already understand NVIDIA voltage and frequency curves. Open it with Open Manual V/F Curve Editor.
Advanced feature
An unstable manual profile can crash a game or the graphics driver. Use the automatic tool unless you understand the values you are changing.
Save a target only after reviewing it, then enable Manual VF Undervolt in Pre-Launch Configuration. Use the editor's reset controls to discard a profile.
When your screen briefly goes black#
Some GPU actions request a graphics-driver restart. Read and approve that prompt only when you are ready for the interruption. Wait for the display and TinyBoost window to return before continuing.
If a GPU tool reports that the card or driver is unsupported, update the official driver and retry. If it remains unsupported, leave that feature off.
